Newcastle-based alt. pop musician Martha Hill headlines a cracking line-up of local talent at Sage Gateshead on Friday 22nd March, which also sees electro duo Talk Like Tigers and rising star Zak Younger Banks perform, ensuring you’ll be hard pressed to find a better way to spend your Friday night.

Last year Martha Hill released her debut critically acclaimed single Spiders, followed by the beguiling Wallflower earlier this year. With socially conscious content in her lyricism, she is making quite the name for herself, particularly following support slots for the likes of Let’s Eat Grandma, Mahalia and Alicai Harley.

Talk Like Tigers’ star is certainly in the ascendancy this year. Having spent time honing their flawless electro pop, they recently performed at Sage’s New Year New Artists festival. New single Fruit is a perfect introduction to the talented twins’ music, with its glacial beats and irresistible chorus.

Scot-turned-Geordie Zak Younger Banks is set to open the night. With the recent release of his new single I’m Not Made Of Stone, the talented musician demonstrates an innate lyricism amidst atmospheric strings and affecting vocals.
