Multi-talented comedian Mark Watson – star of Radio 4’s Mark Watson Makes the World Substantially Better, regular panellist on Have I Got News For You and author of four novels – has been confirmed as the headliner for the first-ever Barnard Castle Comedy Festival, which takes place on Saturday 18th July. Watson is returning to Barnard Castle for the second time and it’ll be his first time performing material at The Witham, the town’s one-stop shop for the best in hilarious comedy.

Peter Dixon, the festival organiser, said: “We are thrilled that Mark Watson is headlining our first Barnard Castle Comedy Festival. His appearance fits perfectly with the line-up that we had already secured for the day. This is the second time Mark will have performed in Barnard Castle as he was booked to play our first show at the refurbished Witham.”

Watson will be performing alongside a huge array of world-class comedic talent on the day, including Alex Horne, Jo Caulfield, Tony Law, Lost Voice Guy and Lee Kyle. With a bill containing so many amazing local and national comedians, the one-day event is set to be one of the highlights in this year’s regional comedy calendar.
