Reliably informed

Famed on the comedy circuit for his impassioned rants, unusual TV appearances and also for being exceptionally thin, Mark Watson was the 100th act to perform at Barnard Castle’s Funny Way To Be Comedy Club back in 2013. In the years since then he’s packed plenty into his life; performing marathon shows lasting 24 hours, becoming an acclaimed author of six books, being half-killed on Bear Grylls’ Celebrity Island and cluster bombed with yoghurt on Taskmaster. As you do.

Most recently he’s been busy on Twitter demonstrating once again what a thoroughly decent chap he is by offering advice and emotional support to his fellow Edinburgh Festival acts should they need it, so perhaps it’s not surprising that his new show is all about empathy. Beginning as a work-in-progress show in Edinburgh last year, The Infinite Show is inspired by the alarming state of the world Mark’s kids are growing up in and his desire to do something about it. Now it makes its official premiere and kicks off The Witham’s autumn comedy season on Saturday 14th September, promising another evening full to the brim with jokes (and more rants) from the amiable Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Mock the Week regular.
