Reliably informed

‘Approximation in the digital age to a humanity condemned to disappear’, to give Mario Pfeifer’s exhibition its full title, is the expression of numerous cultures – from indigenous people, settlers and military personnel – to the place they call home, the area of southern Chile referred to as Tierra del Fuego. Exploring observation and culture cataloguing processes, the dialogue contributes to enquiries into anthropological documentation, and are made on behalf of the artist through a variety of mediums, including film, sculptural entity, artifacts, as well as textual and photographic pieces.

Orchestrated by CIRCA Projects, the work of Mario Pfeifer is brought to us in a way that is entirely unique, with the industrial and sea-based thematic content of the artwork linking to the chosen site of display of Gateshead Quays. The exhibition is curatorially engineered in a way in which the artwork will be uniquely experienced on the occasion of its showing, offering a unique and thought-provoking experience.

Mario Pfeifer’s exhibition is at CIRCA Projects, John Joyce Building, Gateshead from Friday 16th October until Saturday 21st November (Thurs-Sat).
