As a frustrated, middle-aged white man, Marcus Brigstocke is the very epitome of everyday Middle England. However, his unique blend of gloominess, self-deprecation and frustration as he rails unrelentingly against the system has somewhat accidentally endeared him to millions thinking the same as him.
In the middle of a recession and a largely grey summer, thank goodness that the nation’s foremost, perma-frustrated comedian is returning to share a few more of his (and collectively, our) problems with the maddening, clinical world around him. However, in an unusual turn of events, Marcus has decided to pour a little sunshine on the grey summer clouds and base his show on the fundamentals – everything which despite the gloom and economic doom and the other difficulties which dog modern life, still makes us feel warm inside.
Marcus’ sharp wit, speed and ability to laugh at himself and at his own exasperations will be on public display at Stockton’s ARC on Wednesday 5th and Gala Theatre, Durham on Thursday 6th October. All that is left to do is buy a ticket, laugh at the mundane, appreciate the fundamentals and wait for the apparently show-stopping surprise at the finale.
