Reflecting on childhood, motherhood and marriage, innovative new play Make Do And Mend is at Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th September. Drawing on real life tales of women from County Durham who have suffered and survived the trauma of domestic abuse, it’s a powerful piece of theatre that needs to be seen.

Written in a verbatim format, it invites its audience to experience first-hand three poignant local stories, in a visually compelling and moving production. Director Rachel Adamson and an all-female cast, delicately weave a narrative that is full of heartache and humour, all in aid of the ongoing Women’s Voices project. This work has already been highly received on both a local and international platforms, and could be a show that proves to be immensely memorable that will rightly be talked about long after its on.
