The Love Boudoir show was launched in February as part of Newcastle’s community station Gravity Radio. Its host, DJ Musty, created the show to play the music he felt was underrepresented in regional broadcasting, from nu jazz and soul to disco and instrumental hip hop. Since the show started it’s seen a number of high profile DJs – including Smoove of Smoove and Turrell – guesting on the show with more planned in the future.

It’s also diversified into putting on live performances in collaboration with Gateshead’s Arch Sixteen Café, carrying on the relaxed feel of the show by mixing national and regional artists with DJs. This month, Musty is bringing UK hip hop collective Worst x Lydon G to the venue, who promise to bring a melting pot of beats and meaningful lyrics to the café. They’re backed by Newcastle’s own hip hop group The Warm Collective, as well as DJ sets from Urban Geisha and Rune, a 16 year old DJ and producer based in Gateshead. If you’ve ever wanted to go to a show in the region that helps to break the best of regional talent then you’ll feel the love here.

The Love Boudoir show takes place at the Arch Sixteen Café in Gateshead on Saturday 24th October.
