The Star & Shadow Cinema may currently be in somewhat of a relocation limbo, but that won’t stop them from hosting their much-loved film retreat for the second year running.

Losing The Plot, which will be held at Burnlaw in Northumberland, is the cinema’s self-proclaimed “unorthodox weekend of cinema in the wilderness” and will take place from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st June. With screenings, discussions, walks, eating and camping all on the agenda, it’s the perfect opportunity for North East-based film buffs to try something a little bit different.

A range of documentaries, feature films and artist film programmes are to be screened outdoors, where attendees will have plenty of space to enjoy. While some showings are more suited to certain age groups than others, the event is family friendly and it’s possible to buy tickets for individual screenings as well as for the whole weekend.

Highlights include Patricio Guzman’s Chilean documentary Nostalgia For The Light, Pelo Malo’s rare look into Latin American race relations, Neighbouring Sounds’ undertones of slavery and suicide and Dostoyevskian epic Norte: End Of History.
