Having brought literary masterpiece To Kill a Mockingbird to life last year, Regent’s Park Theatre are following up with another revered adaptation, which has already had sell-out performances in London; as Lord Of The Flies is given a stage at Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday 8th until Saturday 12th March.

William Golding’s 20th Century classic tells the tale of a group of schoolboys surviving a plane crash, stranded on a desert island, as adventure quickly gives way to the struggle for survival and the dark world they inhabit is brought to life on stage. A set design to rival most, the life-size plane fuselage is a magnificent backdrop that lends a reality to the story playing out.

Immersive and inventive, it’s a piece of theatre that will really grab attention and hold the audience throughout, with top performances from a cast of young actors including Freddie Watkins (Nativity) as Jack, Luke Ward-Wilkinson (Wild at Heart, Beautiful People) as Ralph, Anthony Roberts as Piggy, Keenan Munn-Francis (The Scottsboro Boys, The Lion King) as Simon and many more. With direction from Timothy Sheader, Regent Park Theatre’s artistic director, it’s all in good hands, and makes for something utterly enthralling, as Golding’s sharp writing springs to life.

Lord Of The Flies is at Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday 8th until Saturday 12th March.
