With comedy season in full swing as we approach the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August, comedians are prepping the hour long shows they’ll be taking up to put the final touches to something they’ve put a great deal of hard graft into. Long Live Comedy, the North East’s longest running open mic comedy night is hosting a range of previews from lots of local favourites, and with the shows all free is the best chance to see some top talent honing what could well be their own comedy masterpiece. It all takes place at Jumpin’ Jacks, above The Dog and Parrot.

It all starts tonight, with Lee Kyle and Joby Mageean both showcasing their solo shows. It then continues weekly every Tuesday with two previews every night, with June 6th welcoming Cal Halbert alongside a double bill of Neill Harris and Julie Grady Thomas, June 13th it’s the turn of Rahul Kohli and Jonny Pelham, then June 20th it’s two that remain a mystery for now. June 27th is a week off, then July 4th is Matt Hoss and Sean Turner, with David Callaghan and Silly Billies, the glorious Fernando is on July 18th with another mystery preview to be announces, before Rahul Kohli and Daniel Triscott provide the final preview on Tuesday July 25th.

Long Live Comedy is always a top way to spend a Tuesday laughing, and getting sneak previews of top shows gives you even more reason not to miss out.

Long Live Comedy’s Preview Season is every Tuesday, at Jumpin’ Jacks.
