Self-proclaimed “doom pop” five-piece Lonely the Brave are bringing their energetic debut album The Days War to Newcastle this month with a gig at The Cluny on Friday 13th March.

Lonely the Brave haven’t just stumbled out of school and it’s refreshing to listen to a band that sing about something other than being young, drunk and dumb. But if you think that their debut album and their live shows will be all doom and gloom then prepare to be pleasantly surprised. There’s a genuine sense of optimism throughout the album and the particularly moving The Blue, The Green shows frontman David Jakes charged with a sense of recovery.

Support comes from Hannah Lou Clark, who has gained the attention of Guy Garvey and Steve Lamacq. Her EP Silent Type showcases her impressive vocal range alongside stirring instrumentation and is guaranteed to impress her sensual guitar riffs and sultry vocals.
