Reliably informed

Remember when gigs were a thing? One of the first things I’d do upon attending a gig would be to check out the merch stall (even before going to the bar!), and as a consequence my wardrobe is littered with local band t-shirts spanning at least 15 years.

I’ll be looking to add to this collection this week though, in celebration of the very first #LocalMusicTShirtDay, masterminded by Middlesbrough’s finest Base Camp and Sad For Life Records, which will take place on Friday 8th May.

The initiative has been started as a way of showing support for local musicians who find themselves out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic.

If you can afford to, why not treat yourself to a brand new t-shirt by your favourite local artist and wear it with pride on Friday 8th, snap a shot of yourself wearing it and fill social media with images tagging #LocalMusicTShirtDay and the artists you’re supporting.
