One slight bit of sunshine and our minds all wandered to festival season. The end of summer seems a long way off, but Lindisfarne Festival from Thursday 30th August until Sunday 2nd September brings Beal Farm in Northumberland some incredible music talent.

The announcement for the next headliners is made alongside UK homelessness charity Crisis, through Musicians Against Homelessness (MAH) initiative. Avid supporters of this grass roots movement Happy Mondays are the ideal announcement as the next headliners for this few days of festival fun, joining the already announced Levellers.

Happy Mondays are one of the most famous bands to emerge from the 1980s Manchester scene – with a slew of hits including Step On, Kinky Afro and 24 Hour Party People.

Plans for the 4thannual festival, which crowdfunded £75k in 6 weeks last October are going from strength to strength, with organisers confirming record ticket sales for the 2018 event so far.

With over 150 acts across 8 stages, Lindisfarne Festival may be relatively new, but it’s impressive in the way it has continued to grow. Other acts already announced for the over 18’s festival include The Showhawk Duo, Ferocious Dog, Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5, Bombskare, Detroit Social Club, Bessie & the Zinc Buckets, Hip Hop Hooray, and local music sensation 13 year old singer-songwriter Tom ‘Mouse’ Smith.

A blend of true music legends and up-and-coming talent make this festival one to make sure you’re in attendance for.

Lindisfarne Festival takes place at Beal Farm, Northumberland from Thursday 30th August until Sunday 2nd September.
