He isn’t a tourist, he isn’t here on business, Lewis Schaffer is a hostage; stuck in the UK making the worst of a bad situation. The New York comedian, who is said to combine the comedy genius of Joan Rivers and Jackie Mason with all the relevance of fresh British comedy, visits Arts Centre Washington as part of his nationwide tour on Friday 10th April.

Now based in Peckham, Lewis Schaffer is the host of his own radio show, Nunhead American Radio, and has the longest running residency at the prestigious Leicester Square Theatre in London. Back in New York, he was one of the top comics on the stand-up comedy scene and was house compere of the Comedy Cellar and Boston Comedy Club. His free-wheeling style means every show is unique and equally as thrilling; New York’s loss has certainly been our gain!

Lewis Schaffer’s Free Until Famous is at Arts Centre Washington on Friday 10th April.
