After releasing her first album Way We Are in 2010 and regularly selling out copies of her debut EP, Lesley Roley is set to launch her latest album at The Cluny 2 on Thursday 27th November. In the past, Roley has toured with a variety of bands and artists including the Golden Silvers, Codeine Velvet Club and The Joy Formidable as well as opening for acts such as Katie Melua, Ben Howard and KT Tunstall. Roley’s pure and crystal-clear voice has earned her a legion of fans over the years and recently, Roley was invited to attend a song-writing masterclass with Beth Nielson Chapman (who has written for the likes of Faith Hill and Willie Nelson), joining a group of eight other local songwriters chosen from about 100 entries, some of the results of which will appear on the album. Roley has also listened to her fans in producing the new album; many of her supporters wished to hear Lesley play more songs by herself, to which she has obliged by creating the wholly acoustic LP. Much of Roley’s appeal lies in her on-stage charm and wit that resonate throughout her performances. The launch at The Cluny 2 is set to be an intimate occasion featuring just Roley with a few backing vocals and the promise of some very special guests.
