Multi award-winning and thoroughly deserving comedian Josie Long brings her trademark positive and proudly left wing comedy to Newcastle’s Stand on Sunday 5th November. The show, entitled ‘Lefty Scum’, wears the criticism she receives from the right wing press as a badge of honour; bringing her friends Grace Petrie and Jonny And The Baptists along for the ride, the trio of performers offer up a night of music, comedy and revolutionary socialism.

Each of the acts has their own approach to lefty art, with a sense of joy in their radicalism a common thread among them. Those still (unfathomably) unfamiliar with Josie Long can expect endearingly warm stand-up almost as self-deprecating as it is deprecating of the Tories. Grace Petrie is a folk protest singer with loveable warmth and a sense of righteous anger at social injustice that will leave you invigorated, instilled with a sense of hope and itching to rise up and take action. Comedy folk band Jonny And The Baptists provide their bright and energetic, yet always biting, satire to complete this delightful line-up of joyous lefty fun.
