Reliably informed

A few years ago, I saw Lauren Pattison perform at The Stand. She was a Northumbria University student at the time, and a familiar face behind the till at Boots. Fast forward to 2017, she has an East London postcode, a feature in Vogue, and a string of five star reviews for a sold out Edinburgh show. If that wasn’t enough, she’s fresh from supporting Katherine Ryan across the country, and her own show Lady Muck, has commanded six nights at London’s Soho Theatre.

It’s no surprise then, that tickets for her homecoming show at Newcastle’s Alphabetti Theatre on Thursday 23rd November are selling fast. Lady Muck is a coming-of-age tale, chronicling her move from Heaton to London, a painful breakup and learning to accept herself for who she is. Through stories of hangovers and heartbreak, Pattison explores her crippling self-doubt. Her brutally honest, but razor sharp tales of self-discovery, are relatable to any woman in her twenties, although most women in their twenties don’t have unlimited praise from the Guardian, Sunday Times and The Telegraph.
