The BBC is a British institution. It might have had its fair share of scuffles and scandals lately but it still manages to put on some quality TV and some even better radio. But in France, they love their radio even more than us. In fact, it’s spawned this quirky little documentary, La Maison De La Radio, which takes a peek into life behind the scenes of their equivalent of BBC Radio.

If you ever wanted to know how they produce radio, then the documentary will be fascinating. Not only does it look at the jobs of the presenters but it also delves into the lives of the many journalists and producers who work behind the scenes, beavering away to provide a vast array of content to provide to the public. Catering to the culture-loving, politics-mad French public isn’t always easy though, as the film also shows. Still, it’s guaranteed to be a great insight into the workings of one of Europe’s most popular talk radio stations.

La Maison De La Radio comes to the Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle from Friday 6th February.
