The UK’s most spectacular open-air live action show since the opening of the London 2012 Olympics takes place in County Durham this summer against the backdrop of Auckland Castle.

Kynren is a fast-paced, action-packed journey through 2,000 years of British history, spanning from Roman times to the Second World War – bringing history to life in the most mind-blowing way. Be prepared to be amazed as the tale unfolds on an epic landscaped open-air stage the size of five football pitches with a full-size lake at its centre. Join the audience of up to 8,000 and enjoy ships and a steam train, mass choreography, combat, dance and much, much more, including 1,000 volunteers involved as cast and crew and an accompanying menagerie of diverse animals.

Listed by Rough Guides as one of the world’s top 10 must-see tourist attractions to experience in 2016, this captivating 90-minute family show takes place once darkness has fallen to create the best possible backdrop for the dazzling pyrotechnics, lighting and water effects. The audience will get to enjoy the evocative soundtrack by composer Nathan Stornetta in superb surround-sound quality.

This extraordinary ‘epic tale of England’ launches on Saturday 2nd July for the first of fourteen exciting performances throughout the summer.
