Readers of a nervous disposition: look away now. And keep doing so.

Yes, Kunt And The Gang, the Basildon character comedian behind some of the most gleefully tasteless yet perversely catchy novelty songs of the internet age, is back in the region this month. Responsible for stunts such as attempts to gatecrash the top forty around the time of the royal wedding, defacing other acts’ posters with his own suitably crude logo at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011, and trying to launch an online ‘Dirty Protest’ against Simon Cowell in 2013, it’s still his regular live show that’s kept his cult following alive. Just him, his trusty MP3 player and the occasional offensive prop against some of the grimmest pub venues on the circuit.

For his latest Newcastle gig, he’s found himself upgraded to Think Tank? in Times Square, a sign that over a decade on he’s still finding new thrills in his combination of single-mindedly puerile gags and chirpy, cheap midi synth-pop. Playing on Thursday 27th August en route to Edinburgh to close out this year’s Fringe, expect to hear all his minor YouTube novelty hits, replete with his very unique take on showmanship.

Kunt And The Gang plays Think Tank?, Newcastle on Thursday 27th August.
