Punk music has had a long, rich association with politics, so with the current political climate as it is, a seeming tribute to the 1980s Tory government that influenced many punks bands of the time, Leeds/London band Kleine Schweine have drew on that to release some of their most charged and passionate songs to date. They come to Newcastle for the first time on Friday 5th August, with a show at the Cluny.

Fast, furious and raw, the band from Leeds and London, have honed their sound that sits firmly in having a very traditional punk rock vibe. Cutting lyrics show a real intelligence beneath the frenetic noise, and with three albums to choose from now, there’s a back catalogue that’s slowly building into a real collection of thumping tracks. With the British Press, The Tories and a lot more all coming in for a battering, it’s time to rip it up and let loose in the company of some fellow punks.

Kleine Schweine play Cluny, Newcastle on Friday 5th August.
