With Star & Shadow now officially opened, they’re hitting the ground running with some amazing events. Next up it’s Kiss Of Life, with three films by Adrin Neatrour being screened on Saturday 30th June.

The three documentary films aim to capture the spirit of being alive. The title comes from a Neil Oram poem, and the films each connect with life experience in their own way. Where the Bee Sucks (2016) is a film that captures the spirit of the bee hive; Neil Oram Reads from… (2017)  a film made with the visionary poet Neil Oram and finally Riverside Voices (2018)  a film shot from the Tyne capturing the voices of  those who worked in the vanished industries of the river.

The intimate, unique space offered up by Star & Shadow is the perfect place for captivating, rare pieces of cinema like this, and Kiss Of Life is the sort of perfectly quirky, thought-provoking selection that this venue is all about.

Kiss of Life is at Star & Shadow, Newcastle on Saturday 30th June.
