To start off your bank holiday weekend in style, the Georgian Tyne Theatre are bringing a trio of the region’s favourite bands to Stockton.

A Georgian Tyne Theatre regular within his previous incarnation in The Chapman Family, Kingsley Chapman and The Murder are due to play their debut headline show at the venue. His debut track Olympians is a world away from The Chapman Family, as the track features a striking piano upheld by waves of guitar lines, a concoction that sees Kingsley progress from his former musical ventures.

Darlington neo-gothic band Goy Boy McIlroy are the second addition to the line-up. Their energy and unsettling charm entices you ever closer to their stage presence, so it’s no wonder they are one of the most thrilling bands in the north east right now. This is a band that connects with the raw energy of the music, which is set to knock you off your feet.

Opening the evening is a one man sonic assault, Girl Sweat. His swirls of garage rock are set to send out a wall of drugged out noise in preparation for two other of the regions finest.

Kingsley Chapman and the Murder, Goy Boy McIlroy and Girl Sweat all play at the Georgian Theatre, Stockton on Friday 1st May.
