Reliably informed

As part of a series of unique gigs celebrating NARC. magazine’s 10th birthday, we are incredibly proud to present a line-up featuring three songwriters of impeccable range and talent, taking place at The Mining Institute, Newcastle on Friday 29th April.

Tickets cost £10 adv/£12 otd, and are available to buy via this link now.

Kathryn Williams
As part of an intimate solo tour, Mercury-nominated songwriter Kathryn Williams will perform songs from her incredible new album, Hypoxia. Inspired by the writing of Sylvia Plath, Kathryn’s creation is nothing short of captivating; containing songs which are in turns deliciously dark, heart-stoppingly beautiful and quietly affecting, this special appearance at one of Newcastle’s most beautiful venues will be a unique and unmissable performance.

Richard Dawson
Even before he graced the cover of independent music bible The Wire, music loving folks of the North East knew Richard Dawson would achieve greatness. The avant-folk songwriter’s work takes ordinary tales and twists them into astonishing sonic shapes, using only a guitar and his arresting voice. A live performer of incredible skill, he never fails to leave an audience spellbound.

Astrid Williamson
Shetland-born musician and songwriter Astrid Williamson was the founder of John Cale-produced indie band Goya Dress, her ambient pop solo material is by turns ethereal and emotive.
