Commissioned as part of this year’s Juice Festival – a week-long series of events which promotes the creativity of young people – Just Jam International’s phenomenally successful celebration of hip-hop, Jam And Juice, returns to Newcastle’s Dance City on Saturday 31st October.

The event is curated by professional bboy breakdance collective Bad Taste Cru, who welcome a host of international talent to the region to perform and offer the benefit of their wisdom in a series of workshops, as Cru member P explains, “Jam And Juice is the theatre night that incorporates different hip-hop styles. The beauty of this event is that it allows local acts to share the same stage as internationally renowned theatre groups and the dance workshops cover lots of different styles – like poppin’, house, breakin’, lockin’ and krump. We’re really excited this year to be supported by Breakin’ Convention – the world’s biggest hip-hop theatre project.”

Welcoming celebrated names including leading London-based poppers/animators Pro-motion at the theatre show on the Saturday, the event is the icing on the cake of a plethora of other bboy and bgirl-related happenings across the weekend. Watch some of the best MCs in the business go head to head at the Battles at Northumbria University on Sunday 1st November, while at Sage Gateshead from Wednesday 28th until Friday 30th October the Triple Threat Bootcamp welcomes legendary breakdancer Ken Swift, from the renowned Rock Steady Crew, as well as other world-renowned teachers who will offer an intensive three-day course of techniques.

Just Jam present Triple Threat Bootcamp at Sage Gateshead from Wednesday 28th until Friday 30th, Jam And Juice at Dance City on Saturday 31st October and The Battles at Northumbria University on Sunday 1st November.
