A play which was a major hit on the West End is set to get its Tyneside premiere. Jumpy comes to The People’s Theatre, Newcastle from Tuesday 14th until Saturday 18th June. The frank and funny drama explores life through parental anxieties and all the worries, strength and vulnerability of the modern urban woman.

It follows the story of Hilary, who once protested at Greenham Common. Her protests nowadays are far more muted, and mainly directed at her angsty and contemptuous teenage daughter. Her marriage has fell apart, her career is on the rocks, but for this middle-aged mum in Walthamstow, it’s time to look at where it all went wrong. Dealing with tough subjects in an honest and funny manner, it’ll be easy to see why this play has been so popular and made a real connection with so many.

Jumpy is at The People’s Theatre, Newcastle from Tuesday 14th until Saturday 18th June.
