Stagger Lee – otherwise known as NARC. writer Lee Fisher – has been playing records to crowds of drunk people for more than twenty years, at clubs and gigs across London and now the North East, and at festivals ranging from Bangface to Glastonbury to Secret Garden and from Ireland to Italy.
Having got tired of the limitations of specialising – initially with reggae, then with soul – his remit is now broad enough to embrace the grooviest ska, the stompingest gospel and the funkiest country alongside everything from jumpin’ rhythm and blues to northern soul, with a splash of mod, psych, girl group and French pop thrown in too. After a number of guest spots at Ernest, he decided it was time to put on his first Jumpin’ With Stagger Lee night there on Saturday 24th September. Expect great tunes and visuals and a mixed, friendly crowd. Plus, it’s free!
