Local psych merchants Wandering Oak bring an excellent night of experimental sounds to The Cumberland Arms, Newcastle on Sunday 29th September. Heading up the three-band bonanza are Northern Italy’s Julie’s Haircut, who have been beaming out their hypnotic, spacey sounds to the masses since the late nineties. Having started as a garage rock outfit, the band have since focused on improv and sound research, whilst not losing the groove and melody that has characterised their sound from the start.

The band follow up their Rocket Recordings debut, Invocation And Ritual Dance Of My Demon Twin with their follow up album In The Silence Electric, released in October 2019. The album maintains a balance between ‘hypnotic radiance and otherworldly intensity’ and ‘beatific calm and palpable anger’ to create a zen-like sound that will bring harmony to those who listen at The Cumberland Arms.

Joining them on the bill are krautrock purveyors and techno troubadours, Parastatic and inventive instrumental two-piece, Ten Sticks

Doors are from 7.30pm and advance tickets are available via SEE Tickets.
