Reliably informed

Satirical rock duo Jonny Donahoe and Paddy Gervers bring their utterly daft show to Northern Stage in Newcastle on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th April. The comic musicians peddle a charmingly silly line in protest songs and toilet humour, and their latest show centres on friendship, family and environmental disaster, inspired by Jonny’s accidental admission to his four year old niece that climate change would end the world; to stop her crying, he promised to fix it…

For a hint of what to expect from the duo, check out The Farage EP (pronounce as ‘garage’ or “it rhymes with same-sex marriage”) full of right-on rapping and cheeky breakdowns, which reached number one in the comedy charts in 2013 or the recent album, The End Is Nigh, which accompanies their tour. With a smattering of Tenacious D-style dual vocals, gruff, pompous delivery and acoustic accompaniment, the duo are renowned for their politically angled lyrics and fair dose of silliness – see  the sub-minute long We’re All Going To Die and faux blues rock bizarreness of Willies as a case in point.
