Reliably informed

Sheffield’s finest singer-songwriter and entertainer John Shuttleworth has had a bit of a health scare lately (well, a bout of sciatica) and it’s forced him to take a good look at life and ponder his own mortality. Before he inevitably has to move into a hospice (sciatica can be very debilitating, apparently), he’s attempting one last push for fame alongside agent Ken Worthington and his trusty Yamaha in his Last Will And Tasty Mint show, heading to Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Friday 20th January.

It’s not all death and destruction though! John will also be tackling some of the modern world’s most pressing issues, including the rise of hi-vis, plastic lids on takeaway cups and the general excitement felt by eating mints (all the big stuff, basically). Plus, alongside pondering whether to sell his organs on eBay, he’s still stumped by life’s old chestnuts. Strap yourself in for sing-along classics such as I Can’t Go Back To Savoury Now, Y Reg and Two Margarines. But after this swansong, how will we cope without the great John Shuttleworth? It’s a nightmare scenario…
