Reliably informed

Off-of-the-TV’s Jo Caulfield and multi-award-winning Guilty Feminist Sofie Hagen join together for a double bill made in heaven, heading to the Bottle Shop Bar & Kitchen, Newcastle on Wednesday 4th May, each with a fresh new solo show to preview for this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.

If you haven’t seen Jo Caulfield before, you a) presumably don’t have a telly and b) are missing out, man. Withering, no-nonsense Jo has graced Mock the Week several times, as well as Michael McIntyre’s and John Bishop’s shows. Her rather long and rather sparkling full list of TV and radio credits speaks for itself. This year’s show, Pretending to Care, promises Jo’s classic mixture of sharp satire and observational humour.

Sofie Hagen (Chortle Best Newcomer 2014, Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer 2015) has gone from strength to strength. In last year’s Fringe show Bubblewrap, Sofie discussed mental health, body image and her experiences as a Westlife fan. Her shows are packed with heart and wisdom and she’s so funny your sides will hurt. She’s not going to be playing venues this small for much longer, so do not miss this! Consider yourself warned.

Jo Caulfield and Sofie Hagen perform at Bottle Shop Bar & Kitchen, Newcastle on Wednesday 4th May.
