Reliably informed

At last – our favourite South Tyneside funnyman Jason Cook is back, and still leaving us wondering what the heck to expect.

The award-winning Hebburn creator and self-confessed cracker fanatic will be returning to the limelight on Saturday 4th February with his new one man show, An Idiot Speaks. Why the name? “Because it is a tale of idiocy”, claims Cook. As ever, he warns that the subject matter will be anything but light and airy: armed with a boatload of shocking tales from his time spent in the merchant navy, the comedian is determined to ‘find the funny’ in the heavier stuff, with promises of new songs, old favourites and ‘some kind of finale’ along the way.

Thankfully, that’s not all we’re seeing of Jason, who is far from elusive on the local comedy circuit. Less than a week after this one-night-only performance at Customs House, he’s set to be gracing the confines of Newcastle’s Wylam Brewery (Saturday 11th February), bringing extra helpings of the finest and freshest standup in Jason Cook’s comedy Club. The man himself will be hosting an array of comic talents, including Phil Nichol, Carl Hutchinson and a very special guest, so we are told…

Brace yourselves – he’s cooking up a storm (probably).

Jason Cook’s is at Customs House on  Saturday 4th February and Jason Cook’s Comedy Club is at Wylam Brewery Saturday 11th February.
