In just a few days time one of Darlington’s best theatre events returns to the town for another four days of stage-based action, bringing stories and spectacles from around the world to your doorstep. This autumn the festival is set to be bigger than ever, with literally something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age.
The launch event on Thursday 1st October sees a selection of performers taking to the stage at the Liddiard Theatre, including Newcastle-based band Mush who are set to bring their delicate and haunting piano and bass combination to the venue. Multi-talented Radio 4 favourite Kate Fox will also be treading the boards, bringing her always engaging mix her comedy, poetry and writing to Darlington. Rounding off the launch event is something completely different in the form of Parked, an innovative dance production from Flex Dance. The company works with artists with learning difficulties and those without, making it one of the most inclusive organisations around. In Parked, they bring the story of one man’s chance to become an unlikely hero in spectacular fashion.
Across the remaining three days Jabberwocky will be celebrating its fifth event with scratch nights, performances specifically for children, an airing of the stunning Beats North and much more.
