Multi-venue festivals are all the rage at the moment, and with events like Live At Leeds now into its eleventh year and still going strong, there’s definitely room for more. Alongside regional stalwarts like Evolution Emerging, Stockton Calling and more recent addition Twisterella, we’ll all be given yet another reason to celebrate great local and national music this year.

Hit The North will take place in Newcastle on the Friday 28th April, and will be staged across 11 city centre-based venues including Think Tank, The Mining Institute and the 02 Academy. Whatever your musical preference, there’s sure to be something on offer. Acts like Slaves, Frightened Rabbit and Lethal Bizzle have all been confirmed at the top of the bill, amongst a bunch of brilliant newcomers.

Swaggering and hotly tipped indie trio The Pale White, hazy math-rockers PLAZA and folk singer/songwriter Fletcher Jackson are just a few of the local acts playing,  handpicked from the burgeoning music scene. They feature alongside a host of other rising acts from across the UK such as melodic indie pop band The Magic Gang, Scouse, pop rockers Clean Cut Kid and Bedford born solo artist Tom Grennan. Hit The North has secured some of the most in demand artists right now and looks to be an all round boost for the region and all involved.
