This Sunday, the ever-popular Ernest bar and café in Ouseburn, Newcastle is paying host to a very special evening of music and entertainment boasting both a superb bill and a chance to support a very worthwhile cause.

Hit The Bricks is set to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK (minimum suggested donation for the evening being a very reasonable £3), with organiser Mark Hammond arranging the evening in memory of his mother Linda.

Playing on the evening are four superb acts more than worthy of your time. Headlining the event is the grunge-influenced grunge rock of Dead Like Wolves, with support coming from alt-folk songwriter Young Property Developers as well as Mark Hammond himself. As an extra treat for those arriving early, opening the evening is the one and only Bard of Longbenton himself, Mr. Nev Clay, whose intelligent, witty and heart wrenching writing is a permanent delight.

As well as all this, there’s also a special raffle running on the night, with prizes ranging from gig tickets, cinema passes, wine, vouchers for classes, a free meal with drinks at La Tasca and artwork.

The Hit The Bricks fundraiser takes place at Ernest, Newcastle on Sunday 20th August.
