Those with a penchant for 90s indie will be well rewarded at Hardwick Live on Saturday 22nd August, as the boutique festival welcomes some top indie talent in the shape of Mancunian’s James, whose chart-topping hits and sing-along anthems make them an ace festival act. They’ll be joined on the main stage by Yorkshire’s epic rockers Embrace, NME darlings Razorlight and 70s art rockers 10cc, alongside a host of up and coming acts including songwriter Scott Matthews, whose fusion of funk, indie, rock and soul has earned him plaudits from far and wide, the beguiling Natasha North and local indie rockers The Voluntears. The Discovery stage welcomes John Power’s loveable Liverpudlians, Cast; the North East’s very own fantastic funkers Smoove & Turrell; and highly regarded young indie upstarts The Sherlocks; while the Dome stage features disco and house DJ Joey Negro, Shindig resident Mark Lowry, Modify DJ Shaun Gillies and To The Manor Born regulars Rob Oxley, Pete Wharrier and Michael Johnson. There’s comedy on offer courtesy of the ever-reliable Grinning Idiot team, featuring Cal & Alfie, Lee Kyle and Phil Walker.

The festival offers a pretty good location too; nestled in the beautiful County Durham countryside, Hardwick Hall is surrounded by the lush environs of Hardwick Country Park.

Hardwick Live takes place at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield on Saturday 22nd August.
