We could all do with a chance to don retro gear and dance like it’s 1959. That’s where Hoochie Coochie and their good friends Hannah Rickard and the Relatives often come in. The five-piece are coming back to the Newcastle club to bring some 50s class to Newcastle once again on Friday 30th January.

The band’s latest single You Changed is unashamedly retro, with honky-tonk swing that gives Irish rockabilly star Imelda May a good run for her money. Indeed, Hannah Rickard’s sultry voice is about as classic as it gets for swing music, sassily floating across the plinky-plonk pianos and impudent horns. It’s all swinging good fun and, if their previous live sets at the venue are anything to go by, they’re sure to get the dancefloor filled with people looking to bust some hardcore swing moves.
