The local author gives his new book an imaginative launch
North East-based author Guy Mankowski celebrates the release of his fourth novel this month. An Honest Deceit is a gripping contemporary thriller centering around the death of the protagonists beloved young daughter. Mankowski’s training as a psychologist helps to draw out a taught storyline, full of razor sharp prose and trickery around every corner. Having already received rave reviews from the likes of Huffington Post, the novel promises a thrilling and intelligent read.
Five years in the making, An Honest Deceit is the first of Mankowski’s novels to be published in Europe and Japan as well as the UK, so it’s only right that it gets a proper welcome into the world. Praise be then, for the clever bods at Candy Vortex who will be transforming Ampersand Inventions in Commercial Union House into the ‘semi-fictional reality’ of the novel for a one-off event on Saturday 22nd October. The Candy Vortex’s Rebecca Reed will conjure a site-specific installation for the event, which will also see minimalist electro wonder Pentecostal Party perform live.
