Guilty Pleasures is a hugely popular club night, though the completely original evening has never ventured to Newcastle, until now, as that’s all about to change on Saturday 29th October. Welcomed to our fair city by recently renovated venue Boiler Shop, this is going to be a massive Halloween party the likes of which have never been seen here before.
With energetic DJ sets, a ‘massaoke’ providing large participation karaoke, live cover bands with a twist, a drag queen troupe and confession booth, there’s a lot packed into one night. It’s something that really gets you involved too, making sure you’re totally able to get lost in the immersive and unapologetic fun. Started by BBC London Radio DJ Sean Rowley, Guilty Pleasures celebrates all things pop and our love for them.
The event is filled with theatrical shenanigans, with cover bands including a 10-piece brass and drum collective, Old Dirty Brasstards and Bikini Surf Band; drag queen troupe The Lip Sinkers; and DJ Sean Rowley himself with a playlist covering the 80s through to today, and lots of pop classics. Halloween fancy dress is also encourage, so tickets are going to be snapped up for this quickly, as this is set to be a Saturday night like no other.
