Looking for an alternative to camping? Enjoy a bit of adventure? Or just want to get away from the kids? Well, look no further – for this month, Newcastle’s Hancock has just the ticket! Whether you’d rather bed down next to a life-size elephant, Egyptian Mummy or T-Rex (and no, we don’t mean the glam rock band), the museum are offering adult visitors a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the exhibits under the blanket of night.

The evening promises to be a truly unforgettable one: after dropping off your bags, experience a plethora of expert-led events and exhibitions with the aid of a complimentary drink, including exclusive access to all manner of fascinating beasties in Bones: Skeleton Secrets of the Animal World. After a hot buffet dinner, enjoy a mesmerising performance by the one and only Cornshed Sisters, who will be playing songs from their upcoming album (currently in production at Field Music HQ) under the glorious living planet display.

To round it all off, a host of local DJs will be playing well into the night, accompanied – of course – by a cash bar to see you through ‘til the early hours. Breakfast is also supplied, rendering it perhaps one of the strangest B&Bs you’re likely to chance by. The event kicks off at 6:30pm sharp on Saturday 4th March until 8am the following day. So, what are you waiting for?

Grown-Up Sleepover is at Great North Museum: Hancock on Saturday 4th March.
