Stockton’s Green Room are celebrating their birthday once again, this time bringing one of the UK’s most surreal yet genuine acts to the venue to help them party. Oddball punk duo The Lovely Eggs are coming to Stockton with their latest single in tow. The pair have been selling out shows without the help of management across the country (just one taste of how much of a beloved cult band they really are) and are about to unleash their fourth self-produced and self-recorded LP This Is Our Nowhere.

With a distinctively punk-rock fuck-it attitude, The Lovely Eggs’ songs are nevertheless rooted firmly in the humdrum activity of daily life. But, instead of having a whinge about the banality of it all, they turn everyday life upside down, turning our ordinary reality into something more akin to something out of a David Lynch film. Laughing in the face of life’s absurdities, celebrating the car crash of experiences we encounter, the duo’s music is rough, scratchy, and blissfully life-affirming in the most DIY of ways.

Supporting them on the night are Old Muggins and Jack Francis, completing a bill that’ll help the Green Room get into the party spirit as well as herald another year of epic gigs at the venue.

The Green Room’s Birthday Bash takes place at The Green Room, Stockton on Saturday 21st March.
