Saturday 16th June is set to welcome Great Northern Soul Food Session to Boiler Shop in Newcastle from 5pm to midnight. The legendary, iconic label Trojan Records is brought along for the party to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

The reggae label boasts Desmond Dekker, Dandy Livingstone, Jimmy Cliff, Dave & Ansell Collins, Bob & Marcia, Lee Scratch Perry, Harry J Allstars, The Maytals, Ken Booth, Nicky Thomas and Susan Cadogan amongst its output. The event ties together this outstanding record label alongside Great Northern Soul Food’s very own Trojan Soundsystem’ (DJ and MC).

With a stacked line-up of soul, funk and reggae, there’s also live music from funky horn group The Haggis Horns (Mark Ronson’s horn section!) and food available from vendors such as Jimmy Macs Soul Food Kitchen, Acropolis and Little Bao Boy.

Great Northern Soul Food is at Boiler Shop, Newcastle on Saturday 16th June.
