Reliably informed

Originally the solo project of Scott Johnson, Goodbye Chanel have gradually moulded in the past year or so to become a fully-fledged five piece post-pop band. Garnering praise from all quarters of the music press for their unique brand of dream pop, which often contains a generous smattering of lyrical nostalgia and memorable hooks, they’ve become known for sounding like the lovechild of Vampire Weekend and Washed Out.

As the quintet arrive in Stockton as part of their current UK tour, you can expect them to play a delicious array of tunes from their two EPs, Through Night to Paradise and Hot City Nights. With youthful and sugary highs ghostly vocals and often exotic mysticism, tracks like Kalifornia still remain firm favourites while the balmy guitars on the likes of Foreva make the cuts from Hot City Nights just as anticipated. If you’re looking for some alternative sunshine pop to brighten up a cold February night, Goodbye Chanel are sure to help.

Goodbye Chanel play Stockton’s Ku Bar on Friday 27th February.
