This Summer Middlesbrough is going to get a new weekly event that will bring a little magic back to its nightlife. From Wednesday 12th June, Gonzo will be taking over Atik to bring you a half cinema-half club hybrid of a night featuring resident DJ playing everything from alt-rock, to hip-hop to electronica. Their room 2 mezzanine level will open at midnight each week, where you can grab a sofa or beanbag, some free popcorn and enjoy the finest selection of cult and left field movies with full sound system audio. Tickets for this are £3 on the Brexit Guestlist (we don’t know what that is but we’re sure you can find out by visiting their Facebook page).

If that is not cool enough for you, then there is Gonzo Live, a free entry pre-party warm up event at Base Camp featuring the best local bands to get your night started. The first of which features garage punk legends, Pellethead, indie rockers Strangeways and blues/psych outfit Dreams Of The Sun.

It’s going to be a great night that will be the highlight of many a Teessider’s social calendar, but the best things in life don’t last forever. Gonzo runs for 15 weeks before disappearing along with the warm summer air so make the most of it whilst it’s here.
