Gateshead-based ‘electro-noir’ collective Ghosts In Daylight set off on tour this month, showcasing tracks from their new EP, Golden And Green. The group peddle a slick pop style, with shiny melodies, massive synths and a cinematic scope; singer Meme Love’s vocals are reminiscent of St Vincent or Florence Welch’s powerful tones and the band’s ‘electro not retro’ tag is pretty apt; with their oeuvre moving from upbeat pop to off-kilter alt. soundtracks. Songs from their Paper Heart EP feature found sounds and chilling synths, with a highlight being Wild Is The Wind, showcasing a sophisticated and darkly atmospheric side.

The collective’s recently released EP featuring title track Golden And Green shows off quirky breakdowns and sparkling synth lines, making it a catchy pop gem full of subtle finesse.
