Reliably informed

Let’s face it, even amongst that esteemed pantheon of legendary MCs known as the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah (aka Tony Starks; aka Ghostdini; aka Pretty Toney; aka The Wally Champ) remains one the illest and most prolific cats to ever rock a mic – I mean, you don’t last over two decades in the cutthroat game that is hip-hop without consistently coming correct, right?

Critically acclaimed for his lyrical tenacity, intellectual panache and versatile wit, the crux of GFK’s long-standing appeal could be said to reside in his uncanny ability to dexterously weave incredibly dense yet never convoluted narratives into each and every arrestingly lucid stream-of-consciousness bar.

But don’t just take my word for it, feel free to immerse yourself his not-inconsiderable discography – from the seminal classic that is Ironman all the way through to The Brown Tape, his latest and widely acclaimed collaborative effort with Detroit-based beatsmith Apollo Brown – to see what all the fuss is about.

Come Monday 11th June, GFK plays Newcastle’s Riverside, and it promises to be one for the books. So come rain, sleet, hail or snow, make sure to get yourself down there and witness the legendary MC tear the roof off. Who knows, you might even catch the blast of a hype verse!
