The film centred on local legend Keith Crombie made a lasting impression with a screening at Tyneside Cinema already. So successful was it, that Geordie Jazz Man returns for more at both the Tyneside Cinema on Saturday 18th August and Forum Cinema, Hexham on Friday 31st August.

The Tyneside Cinema date sees the film makers working in collaboration with us here at NARC Magazine, as our very own writer, web editor and stand-up comedian Si Beckwith hosts the questions and answer session with filmmaker Abi Lewis (and Keith’s goddaughter) taking place after the film.

Keith left an indelible mark not just on the North East music scene, but on the city as a whole and all that he met. The Jazz Café was a uniquely special place that served as an inspiration for many, and the core of many a good anecdote for so many others.

Starting work on the documentary before Keith’s passing in 2012, the film chronicles the life of someone who had much to be unearthed. Celebrating that legacy was an important part of the film too, and makes for pretty special viewing, receiving much acclaim already.

Geordie Jazz Man is at Tyneside Cinema on Saturday 18th August and Forum Cinema, Hexham on Friday 31st August.
