Aged between 16 and 24? Passionate about electronic music production? You’re in luck: Generator have set up FFWD, a new artist development programme that aims to find and nurture exciting potential and talent within electronic music producers in the region, starting from Tuesday 3rd February.

FFWD are looking for young people (aged 16-24) with a strong passion and desire to learn to apply to the programme. Although some basic knowledge of electronic music production is desired, it’s not essential to apply; all you really need is a real desire to learn. It doesn’t matter what genre you’re into either, as FFWD are considering everything from hip hop and electro to dubstep and house; the skills you can learn in the sessions can be adapted to fit almost any music genre.

The masterclasses are being led by Mark Lowry from Shindig and Smoove, one half of future-disco pioneers Smoove and Turrell, and they’ll be providing the participants with entry points and the opportunity to build, mix and record new tracks, get to work in collaboration and get an insider insight into the industry.

Production courses last six weeks, and will run throughout 2015. Although the courses are completely free, spaces are very limited. However, there is a special opportunity for outstanding participants in each of the courses to gain extra tuition and guidance, where they can gain more intense support to nurture their talent.

For more information, visit FFWD’s page on the Generator website.
