Sketch group Gein’s Family Giftshop are one of those cult favourites that have had their utterly original material talked about so much, they’re branching way, way out of the cult. The nominees for the Best Newcomer Award at The Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2014 are coming to Newcastle’s The Bottle Shop on Wednesday 5th October.
Their fast-paced laughs and unique stage presence make them an absolute stand-out, with strong writing and incredible live performances, it’s easy to see how they’ve built such a core group of loyal followers. With leftfield sketches aplenty, at times dark and twisted, they use tragedy to tickle your funny bone and mirth filled misery; all making this quartet with a gift for the absurd ones you won’t want to miss. With an opening set from fourth member (who fills her role as writer and director) Kiri Pritchard-McLean, this is a midweek laughterfest that’s sure to be unlike any other.
