Pop Recs is welcoming some quite brilliant quirky music to their venue in Sunderland on Monday 8th August. With something of an indie supergroup in the shape of Garden Centre, plus support from two of the most original local acts, this is going to be a cracking evening of alternative goodness.

Erratic, enigmatic pop is what Garden Centre have made their own, pulling in members from King of Cats, Joanna Gruesome, Towel and Keel Her, they’re playing to promote their debut album, which is full of leftfield melodies and a gift for captivating and intelligent tracks. They’ve also got support from two-piece Rice Milk, and their minimal punk songs, with noisy pop from the brilliant Baker Island. Three bands that really set themselves apart, in a venue that does exactly the same, this one is going to be special.

Garden Centre, Rice Milk and Baker Island play Pop Recs, Sunderland on Monday 8th August.
